The SFP Pointe-Noire welcomes the Pointe-Noire Soil Treatment Centre on its land
Sept-Îles, September 30, 2020 – With the construction of the Pointe-Noire Soil Treatment Centre, Englobe Corp. has become the first non-mining company to set up permanent operations on the land of the SFP Pointe-Noire.
The arrival of the Englobe Corp. subsidiary marks another step in achieving Pointe-Noire’s full economic development potential. Indeed, in addition to offering rail transportation and bulk commodities handling, the SFP Pointe-Noire possesses nearly 50 ha of land zoned for industrial use that it wishes to develop.
The industrial land available offers several advantages:
- it is strategically positioned near the St. Lawrence Seaway, the North American railway network, and Route 138;
- it has preferential access to the SFP Pointe-Noire’s railway and handling infrastructure;
- it has preferential access to Port of Sept-Îles port infrastructure.
“The role of the SFP Pointe-Noire is to ensure multi-user access to its infrastructure and land and to continue to act as a vehicle for diversification and regional economic development. That is why we wish to attract businesses from different areas of activity to set up operations on our land,” noted Louis Gravel, President and Chief Executive Officer of the SFP Pointe-Noire.
